What's inside?

Chances are good you’ve run across a Square device at some point. A tiny piece of plastic, that allows you to accept credit cards on your smartphone, is well known all over the U.S. and recently landed in Australia, along with a suite of business-management tools. The company, co-founded by Jim McKelvey and Jack Dorsey — has more than 2,500 employees and is now valued at $20 billion. Jim is not only a serial entrepreneur, who has recently written a book titled: “The Innovation Stack,” but he is also a teacher and a master glass artist.

In this fireside chat, Jon Harmon, VP at BMC, will discuss with Jim the importance of leveraging data workflow orchestration specific to financial services companies and for many industries looking for visibility and efficiency to support a highly functional IT department and streamline business initiatives.

The discussion will also cover:

  • The secrets to developing successful companies (Jim has created companies in payments, education, scientific publishing, construction, printing, glassblowing, and software)
  • Leveraging data as part of a fresh approach to problem-solving
  • The importance of orchestrating your data – for success at work and at home
  • Keys to finding the ‘inner’ entrepreneur to help identify and fix unsolved problems
  • How teams can focus on innovation and driving transformation for a new era
